The Oiler is responsible for the maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment on a ship or offshore platform. This role involves performing routine inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs of engines and mechanical systems. The Oiler ensures that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, supporting the vessel's overall performance and safety.
Job Description:
- Assis ng in the lubrica on of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth opera on.
- Monitoring and maintaining engine room equipment, including pumps, compressors, and generators.
- Performing rou ne maintenance tasks, such as cleaning filters and strainers.
- Assis ng engineers with repairs and overhauls of machinery as needed.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Completion of a technical program or vocational training in marine engineering or mechanical systems is advantageous.
- Compliance with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, including basic safety training.
- Valid medical certificate confirming fitness for duty at sea.
- Experience working in engine rooms or mechanical maintenance roles is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with machinery maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs.
