Chip CAD Engineer

We are seeking an experienced EDA CAD Engineer to join our research and development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining our CAD environment, ensuring smooth operation and integration of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. The role involves close collaboration with R&D users to address technical challenges, liaising with EDA vendors, and maintaining critical hardware such as Cadence Palladium and Synopsys HAPS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimization Solutions:

1. Provide optimization solutions for the CAD environment in research and development.
2. Develop and maintain unified EDA environments for various projects.
3. Implement rapid automatic project environment setups and environment monitoring systems.
   

• Support and Troubleshooting:

1. Address EDA environment issues encountered by R&D users.
2. Collaborate with EDA vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
3. Provide technical support for the deployment and usage of EDA tools.
   

• EDA Tools and License Management:

1. Install and configure various EDA tools and manage associated licenses.
2. Monitor license usage to ensure compliance and efficient allocation of resources.
   

• Hardware Maintenance:

1. Maintain and troubleshoot Cadence Palladium equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
2. Maintain and troubleshoot Synopsys HAPS equipment, addressing any hardware-related issues.
   

• Collaboration and Documentation:

1. Work closely with R&D teams to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
2. Document all processes, setups, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

How you can stand out:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in CAD or chip R&D work.
3. Familiar with mainstream EDA tools and CAD environments, with experience in building and maintaining CAD environments.
4. Experience in global, large-scale CAD environment architecture and planning.
5. Familiarity with Palladium and HAPS usage and maintenance.
6. Understanding of IC design processes, with project experience in design/verification/synthesis/STA/PD or other processes.
7. Knowledge of Shell scripting; experience with IC-related tool development is a plus.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to drive coordination and planning.
9. Experience in the chip industry and IT technology preferred
