We seek a qualified and experienced Part-Time Safety Officer to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our workplace adheres to all relevant safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and maintaining compliance with industry standards such as ISO 45001 and bizSAFE. This role is essential in promoting a safe working environment, particularly in high-risk sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
Fire Safety:
- Manage fire safety protocols, including serving as the Fire Safety Manager if required, ensuring compliance with the Fire Safety Act and relevant regulations.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Safety Training:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, ensuring understanding and adherence to safety procedures.
Incident Response:
- Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventive measures.
Compliance:
- Ensure the organization complies with WSH regulations and industry standards such as ISO 45001 and bizSAFE.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training activities.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular fire drills and safety audits.
Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore.
Certification in ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) or equivalent.
bizSAFE Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
Fire Safety Manager certification may be required depending on the specific site requirements.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
- Familiarity with international safety standards such as ISO 45001 and local standards such as bizSAFE.
- Experience in managing fire safety protocols and compliance with the Fire Safety Act.
Skills:
