Responsibilities
- Responsible for sourcing & driving cost down initiatives, mainly for our plant in Malacca
- Engage stake-holders and category management team to discuss and explore opportunities
- Align and Roll Out global procurement directives
- Work with NPI and Category Management to phase in/phase out parts
- Responsible for Supplier Management, perform cost review and facilitate quality, quantity and delivery discussion
- Support inventory reduction/optimising initiatives
- Investigate price variances
- Co-drive quality issues with supplier quality team
- Support expediting of materials when escalated
- Setup, manage and maintain Data Hygiene in the SAP environment
Skills
- Knowledge with BOM/ERP/SAP
- Able to read technical drawing in PDF format
- Able to comprehend basic manufacturing process
- Able to work independently
- Analytical and take initiatives
- Strong negotiation skills
- Able to drive and work with different stake-holders
- Hands-on and results-driven
Profile
- Minimum 3-5 years of strategic procurement, or direct materials purchasing, mainly mechanical
- Willing to travel to Melaka once a month, and other countries when required
