Job Overview:
As the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will play a key role in ensuring that our products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, while also managing costs and optimizing resources. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of the flavors and fragrance industry, as well as experience in managing a manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw material intake to final product dispatch, ensuring that production targets are met within the specified timeframes and budgets.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, adhering to industry regulations and company specifications. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement and maintain robust quality control processes.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with local and international safety regulations and environmental standards. Promote a culture of safety within the factory and ensure that all staff are trained in safe working practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production staff, supervisors, and maintenance personnel. Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, continuous improvement, and personal development.
- Resource Management: Optimize the use of labor, materials, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials for production without overstocking.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and product quality. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the factory’s budget, ensuring that all operations are conducted within the allocated budget. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as output, efficiency, quality, and safety. Report to senior management on factory performance and any issues that arise.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with other departments, including R&D, Supply Chain, and Sales, to ensure that production schedules align with company goals and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing management role, with at least 3-5 years in the flavors and fragrance industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations within the flavors and fragrance industry.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions to operational challenges.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and cost control.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools, with experience in ERP systems being a plus.
