We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Hull Underwriter with about 5 years industry experience in the Singapore market and the Asian market to join our marine team.Candidate should have the necessary underwriting skills and the experience in negotiating with local and international broking houses. The suitable candidate shall be given the opportunity to handle the Asian hull business while working within the marine team.
Responsibilities:
· Develop strong relations with Singaporean and Asian businesses and develop a client base for the company in accordance with the company guidelines and industry regulations
· Analyze market trends, competitors and industry trends to identify opportunities and risks in the marine insurance market
· Develop strong and professional relationship with intermediaries and industry partners to facilitate growth and retention
· Stay updated on changes in the maritime landscape, policy guidelines and emerging risks to make educated underwriting decisions
· Knowledge and understanding of Marine Policy wordings
· Ability to learn and adapt to a learning environment and professional development
· Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation in adherence with regulatory and audit requirements
· Team Player who is able to train staff and motivate but also be self-motivated and be able to work independently
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business/ finance/ economics/ marketing any relevant field. Industry certifications or
· Possess CGI (SCI) or any other Insurance certifications
· Minimum of 5 years in marine hull underwriting and business development
· Proficiency in MS Office applications
· Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance oriented
· Communication skills for smooth collaboration with all stakeholders
· Negotiation skills for building and maintaining business relationships
