Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain the day-to-day HSE Operations for Hotel sector business units.
- Coach unit teams in maintenance of the company holistic HSE programme and to improve performance.
- Execute all food and workplace safety related initiative to meet personal and business’ KPI.
- Lead investigations and assist in the completion of incident reporting and investigation of incidents to drive a rigorous approach to root cause identification and close out of corrective actions.
- Work constructively within the operational, HSE teams and other business teams as appropriate to accelerate sharing of learnings and solutions.
- Conduct regular inspection to ensure compliance to the local regulation requirement and adopt global Compass Group practises to ensure improvement.
- Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions to address any non-compliance issues.
- Review and assist in the development of generic SOPs where appropriate.
- Maintain 3rd Party (ISO 22000/HACCP) certifications and implement continuous improvements for the sector.
- Undertake Behavioural Based Safety Observations in unit to drive risk awareness and care with employees and leaders.
- Train unit teams in HSE rules, regulations and best practices by conducting training in the company agreed training courses.
- Monitor the effectiveness of HSE critical risk controls and recommend approaches to process improvement.
- Undertake unit visits on a daily and regular basis; and
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Compass Singapore HSE systems and procedures.
- Follow all Emergency Response plans on site.
- Conduct regular risk assessments in all areas of food and beverage operations, identifying, assessing and controlling of potential hazards and risks, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain a risk register with Compass Group Workplace Safety Lead, ensuring that all identified risks are monitored and managed effectively.
- Adhere to and always maintain food handling standards and food safety plan; and
Unit Operations Requirement:
- Assist in the daily Unit’s operations to ensure HSE compliance.
- Follow up on daily HSE documentation completion.
- Facilitate all audits/inspections conducted by an external party.
- Attend client’s cadence meetings.
- To keep the operations team updated on relevant legislation and industry standards, advising management on necessary changes or updates.
- Organize and conduct HSE/TBT training sessions for staff, ensuring they are aware of safety procedures, food hygiene practices, and emergency protocols.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE practices across the business sector.
Unit Incident Management:
- Ensure timely reporting of any workplace accidents, food safety incidents, or near-misses. Lead investigations for all incidents, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Maintain detailed records of all incidents and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in unit.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, business continuity plan and first aid.
- Coordinate emergency drills and ensure that all staff are familiar with emergency procedures.
Documentation and Reporting to Operations and HQ HSE:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training logs, incident reports, risk assessments, and audit results for the Hotel sector.
- Prepare and submit regular HSE reports for Hotel sector to management, highlighting key issues and trends.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in food safety and workplace safety inspection roles.
- Knowledge of food safety legislation, standards and codes.
- ISO22000:2018 Lead/Internal Auditor.
- Knowledge of FSMS and HACCP procedures.
- Certificate in Work Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, web based software applications and a high level of computer literacy in general.
- Food Hygiene Auditor (Food Safety – Level 3 or higher)
- Take initiative in prompt completion of assigned tasks.
