Our Client would like to invite experienced individuals to join their Team as Project Buyer.
Project Buyer (One-Year Contract / Renewable)
Job Summary
The main purpose of the Project Buyer role is to manage procurement on assigned project basis. This role creates value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies. This role may be responsible for the application of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the geography and category.
Key Tasks:
- Issue supplier purchase orders using requisitions generated by the MRP system.
- Maintain and manage the vendor management systems ( eg. SCM STAR, PEGA)
- Resolve process or supplier-related issues as escalated from the Projects, Businesses, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and engineering.
- Follow up and comply with all supplier delivery date confirmations
- Develop and execute improvements to existing work processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize and apply Company e-Sourcing tools (e.g. e-RFI, e-RFQ).
- Utilization of data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities and generate procurement reports
- Maintain basic knowledge of suppliers and relevant market developments such as mergers & and acquisitions, financial status, and changes in key personnel.
- Ability to persuade others through effective communication skills (both oral and written).
- Negotiation of strategic purchasing conditions on low-value items when creating framework contracts for operational purchasing
- Management according to budget rules, KPIs's and other processes associated with purchasing
- Follow up on missing parts in collaboration with the planning and production departments
- Validate and optimize purchase prices and prepare tender requests
- Help process and resolve accounts payable exceptions
- Ensure compliance with Company buying guidelines
- Understand Company T&C’s, contract and project deliverables and enact plans for meeting goals
- Support resolutions of GR/IR issues and other exceptions to established rules
The Ideal Candidate
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in SCM and related fields
- Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a commercial, procurement, engineering related job role
- Possesses Basic Purchasing fundamentals (supplier relations, contracts, bid analysis),
- Familiar with Procurement work process, Purchasing policies, Negotiation strategies and tactics
- Microsoft office tools (i.e Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality
