Responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of timely and accurate analysis that will enable the team to identify trading opportunities.
- Assist in research projects involving data mining, machine learning, statistical arbitrage models, as well as traditional fundamental models involving supply and demand, weather, ship tracking, and satellite data to drive trading decisions.
- Work with the Trading team to design and build predictive quantitative trading models.
Technical qualifications and skills:
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills
- Proficient user of MS Excel and Data Analysis Tools
- Competence in Python is mandatory
- Expertise in SQL, Redis, InfluxDB etc.
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Experience in developing trading strategies and conducting statistical analysis
- Hardworking and self-motivated
- Good communication skills and teamwork
Profile:
- Education: Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Analytics or Data Science preferred
- Certification in Financial Risk Management (FRM) and Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF)
- 2 - 3 years’ exposure in a commodity trading environment similar to Mercuria’s business
- Background in Finance, Data Science and Quantitative Analysis
- Exposure to commodities trading markets and strategies, policy and market thematics
- Knowledge and experience in oil trading (crude oil, fuel oil, gas oil, gasoline) is a plus.
