The work tasks will include:
• Fixing own vessels in the market, on voyage charter or time charter
• Negotiating and executing single and multiple cargo contracts
• Identifying and negotiating short period tonnage
• Special focus on parceling ships for Africa / Continent / Baltic market
• Close coordination to create synergy with our Cape Town and Copenhagen offices on parceling and positioning ships in Africa / Continent / Baltic.
• Procuring vessels for our cargo commitments, be that under our long-term industrial COAs or spot basis
• Quickly adapting and taking a position in market position.
• Actively participating in and supporting our global presence through communication with our local offices around the world
• Visits to our industrial clients and brokers
To succeed in the job
You have minimum 2 years of relevant experience from a Chartering position in the dry bulk segment, and a strong and global industry network to support our continued growth within the Handymax segment.
You demonstrate good communication skills and possess a problem-solving mindset. You are a true team player and at the same time able to work independently by taking ownership of your tasks; your follow-up and ability to deliver is second to none. You take pride in delivering excellent service to our customers and skills such as persistence, overview and can-do attitude will support our ambition of being A Partner You Can Trust.
Furthermore, we expect that you have/are:
• A relevant shipping education with good results
• Prior experience parceling ships for repositioning is essential
• Good knowledge and prior experience handling Africa / Continent / Baltic market is essential
• Experience in operation preferred
• Independent and a self-starter who can proactively identify the business opportunities
• Motivated by a hectic environment where priorities constantly change and innovation is daily business
• Flair for IT, business intelligence and data
• Fluent in English both verbally and in writing since English is our corporate language
• Fluent in additional European language preferred
