Duration : 3 Months contract (Extendable)
The Open System server engineer is responsible for the planning, design, management, configuration,
implementation, performance tuning, backup/recovery, data replication, and disaster recovery
methodologies of a fast-growing, complex server environment. This position requires knowledge of best
practices for SAN configurations, VMware replication software, AIX/Linux management, and PowerEdge
Server provisioning skill sets. This position reports to the Open System Server Engineering Manager and
is part of a dedicated server team that works closely with other engineering teams to provide technical
support for all server management-related activities. This individual may also act as a liaison to other
departments, representing the server team on all technical matters related to server management.
Job responsibility
• Logging calls and escorting engineers for repair work
Open-System VM-PowerEdge Server Resident Engineer
• Schedule to the server with the business users or operation team to put the host into
maintenance mode
• Assist with level 2/3 troubleshooting of ESX and PowerEdge server
• Assist with firmware upgrade in PowerEdge server
• Assist with the ESX patching
• Assist to downgrade / upgrade the firmware to bank’s approved level
• Assist to deploy the approved ESX patches
• Configure the required setting and host profile for ESXi
• To check/verify and certify the host to go production
• 24x7 operations support and on-call support responsibilities
• Ability to work on project teams, delivering on key project milestones, and communicating
effectively with a wide variety of people
• Participation in Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing
• Experience with large server environments
• Install, maintain, and customize operating systems and system software
• Process client requests for system server modifications
• Perform problem analysis and resolution implementation to support client needs
• Assist the Operations Engineering leaders in reviewing software requirements and
establishing technical direction and business strategy for the department

Basic Qualifications for Consideration
• Associates Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong Unix, Linus and Server skills in all server utilities and open system disciplines
• Strong understanding of SAN topology and connectivity
• Enterprise class server experience
• Experience with Disaster Recovery development, testing, BAU & implementation tasks
