- Liaise with the Project Manager to develop scope on C&S related matters, such as space planning, layout, structural framing & design, statutory code compliance issues / implications and other technical issues
- Manage the design and coordination process throughout design and documentation phases and ensure the resolution of design and technical coordination issues
- Coordinate with the contract & procurement to develop the project scope and deliverable schedule for subcontracting exercise and be involved in interview of subcontractors for subcontracting exercise
- Provide C&S technical value engineering during tender review
- Manage and review of all subcontractors’ submissions, including material / sample submissions, method statements, shop drawings, etc.
- Liaise with the Project Manager and contract & procurement team with respect to budget and schedule constraints and develop design solutions or raise for VO/EOT as per contract requirement
- Manage and facilitate C&S options or solutions when design issues arise
- Monitor quality of off-site and on-site fabrication from a structural perspective
- Supervising construction administration activities, including:
- Managing design consultants’ required responses during Construction Administration phase
- Attending weekly client / consultants’ meetings
- Managing weekly Project Manager reporting requirements and ensuring accuracy of information for submission
- Providing design and technical support / resolution to site queries / issues over the duration of Construction, as and when required
- Providing periodic inspections on site. Assistance to the Project Manager advising on the quality and completeness of the work from design and technical standpoint during quality check of site works
- Ensuring quality assurance systems are maintained throughout delivery phase of the project to ensure a high quality completed product
- Ensuring statutory clearance / associated occupancy permits are being ascertained in a timely manner
Requirements
- Degree in Building / Civil Engineering or related discipline, recognized by Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or Building and Construction Authority (BCA)
- At least 10 years’ experience in the field of Building or Civil construction, anticipated in Green Mark Platinum, PBU, PPVC, MET, or any DfMA project is preferred.
- Possess Qualified Professional license accredited by local authority board will have an added advantage.
- Good knowledge in various contract forms, e.g. SIA, REDAS, PSSCOC, etc., and local statutory codes with authority submission /application procedures
- Creativity, imagination and sound design sense. Good 3-dimensional awareness is required.
- Strong presentation and proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Bluebeam, and Revit
- Good organization, coordination and leadership skills – ability to coordinate groups of consultants / contractors
- Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently
- Meticulous, eye for details and a good team player
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Mindset to work in a digital environment
