Deputy General Manager

Job Summary: Responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing the management, operation, and strategic direction of the organization’s trust and fund management activities. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing client relationships, overseeing the performance of investment portfolios, and leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership and Planning:Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve the company’s financial goals.
    Support the General Manager in formulating business strategies that enhance the growth and profitability of trust and fund management services.
    Participate in high-level decision-making processes and provide insights on market trends and opportunities.
  2. Operations Management:Oversee daily operations related to the administration of trusts, funds, and similar financial entities.
    Ensure that all activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
    Monitor the performance of various portfolios and recommend adjustments to meet investment objectives.
  3. Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and stakeholders.
    Address client concerns and ensure a high level of satisfaction with the services provided.
    Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  4. Investment Oversight:Work closely with portfolio managers to monitor and assess the performance of collective portfolio investment funds.
    Evaluate investment strategies and make recommendations to optimize returns while managing risks.
    Oversee the preparation of investment reports and presentations for clients and the board.
  5. Risk Management and Compliance:Identify potential risks related to trust and fund management and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
    Ensure that all activities adhere to relevant financial regulations and guidelines.
    Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory changes impacting the business.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals involved in trust and fund management.
    Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
    Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities for team members.
  7. Financial Management:Assist in managing the department’s budget and financial performance.
    Monitor revenue streams and control costs to maximize profitability.
    Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the board.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role overseeing trusts, funds, or similar financial entities.
  • Skills:Strong understanding of the financial markets, investment strategies, and trust/fund management.
    Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing financial entities.
    Excellent leadership and people management skills.
    Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    Proficiency in Chinese and English to liase with the stakeholders from China and other countries.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may involve occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, or regulatory consultations.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours may be required, particularly during peak periods
