Key Responsibilities
- Performing basic and detailed marine integration and design.
- Generate detailed Calculations and Drawings for Piping design as per Project specification, relevant class rules and international regulations; Including but not limited to material specifications, sizing calculations, schematic diagram design, P&ID drawing, layout plans, pump sizing and selection.
- Developing procurement technical specifications based on project specifications.
- Evaluating vendor proposals and technical deliverables to ensure that the scopes of service/supply and the delivery schedules meet project requirements.
- Working with QA/QC to define acceptance criteria for inspection, test and trials to ensure that vessels meet Owners' standards and specifications.
- Attending test and trials, and assisting in data evaluation, fault finding, failures analysis, etc.
- Assisting in the development of on-board marine systems operation manuals.
- Spearhead research and development of vessel.
Basic Requirements
- Candidates must have at least three to five years’ experience in planning, designing in piping design or a similar capacity in the marine and offshore industry, and possess Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- Good hands-on working knowledge of class rules and international regulations.
- Good hands-on working knowledge in the interpretation of piping isometrics, spool drawings, and MTO
- Working knowledge of design and 3D ship modelling software.
- Specialised knowledge in the field (eg Mechanical / Electrical).
- Able to work independently, and liaise with vendors, Class and Owner reps to ensure timely design approval.
- Good communication skills, confident in spoken and written English.
- Advance knowledge in relevant Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD.
