Job Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor IT infrastructure, applications, and network systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Use monitoring tools and software to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and system health metrics.
- Detect and respond to alerts, ensuring any anomalies or issues are identified quickly.
- Identify and troubleshoot system issues or outages, escalating to the appropriate teams if necessary.
- Perform initial diagnostics to determine the cause of issues, working to resolve them promptly to minimize downtime.
- Document incidents and resolutions in an incident management system, ensuring accurate records for future reference.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, or areas for improvement.
- Generate reports on system performance, uptime, and incident frequency for review by IT management and other stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing system performance based on analysis and monitoring data.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL, or specific monitoring tools) are advantageous.
- Experience in IT monitoring, system administration, or a similar role is typically required.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Splunk, SolarWinds, Datadog, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in using and configuring monitoring tools and software.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components such as servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is beneficial for automating monitoring tasks.
- Familiarity with incident management systems and IT service management (ITSM) processes.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and accurately, using a logical and methodical approach.
- Attention to detail, ensuring that issues are correctly identified, documented, and resolved.
