Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at our workshop located at 280 Woodlands Industrial Park E5. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand tools and power tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand requirements.
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials (e.g., plywood) according to measurements.
- Build and assemble furniture, cabinetry, frameworks, and other wooden structures.
- Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and chisels.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a portfolio of completed works.
- Familiarity with carpentry materials and equipment.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- High school diploma or successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required.
