Job Description & Responsibilities:
- To ensure the accurate and efficient recording of receipt and issuance of all jewellery goods and inventory.
- To ensure the accurate tagging of jewellery based on the description, type and weight
- Compares jewellery inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
- Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of merchandise and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
- Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
- Ensure that cycle count procedures are properly followed at each location and that results are recorded, tracked and reported in a timely manner.
- Oversee physical inventory counts as required, including coordination with external auditors and in-charge personnel.
- Maintain schedules of damaged or lost inventory and ensure appropriate reserves are recorded.
- Reconcile period-end inventory balances to the general ledger and ensure reconciliation is appropriately documented.
- Implement process improvements as needed.
- Be prepared to be assigned to any other assignments relative to the position within the organization.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree of the related field or equivalent.
- At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Has a passion for achieving target pricing and ensuring on-time deliveries
- Possess advanced planning and time management capabilities
- Must have a proactive mindset and be able to anticipate and resolve problems.
- A strong work ethic with a positive “can do” attitude and one who takes pride in the quality of their work
- Fluent in English, Tamil and/or Hindi
