We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Lorry Driver to join our team at Pang Toh Kan Enterprises, a leading wholesaler of essential products including rice packs, cooking oil, and flour. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving company lorries to transport goods to and from various locations while also assisting with the loading and unloading of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving Duties: Safely operate a lorry to deliver and pick up products as scheduled. Ensure timely and accurate delivery to clients and suppliers.
- Loading and Unloading: Actively participate in loading and unloading products, including rice packs, cooking oil, flour, and other items. Ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
- Route Management: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize delivery times and fuel consumption. Adjust routes as needed based on traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry. Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and receipts. Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and suppliers. Address any delivery issues or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Follow all road laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a lorry driver with a clean driving record. Experience in loading and unloading goods is a plus.
- Licenses: Class 4 driving licence with a clean driving record. Additional endorsements or certifications related to lorry driving are advantageous.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently. Good physical condition to handle the demands of loading and unloading heavy items.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 kg.
- Extended periods of sitting while driving.
- Ability to navigate and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading goods.
