As a member within the Non-Volatile Engineering Transformation (NVET) Team at Micron, you will be primarily responsible for developing media integration architecture and algorithms for Micron’s wide portfolio of system products. This is a key creative and development position where you will provide mentorship and direction to improve the overall quality Micron products by applying system and component-level expertise. You are encouraged to work cross functionally, interacting with a myriad of teams (systems, component, firmware, architecture). This position provides broad exposure to critical system and component knowledge. As such, you will become a proficient, dedicated authority in system integration, system debug, data gathering, and system failure analysis.
Successful candidates will:
- We work in a high-profile role within the Media Architecture Group/SSD Product Engineering providing engineering expertise on the cutting-edge system products
- Work with GQ, Product Engineering and Central Teams to understand key customer quality issues, support the customer audits and drive issues to resolution within the site in timely manner
- Capitalizing on and consult with advanced dedicated specialist, to develop a broad knowledge base for local engineering groups
- Driving media management, manufacturing, system quality data analysis and reporting
- Deep knowledge of firmware development, verification, failure analysis, embedded systems design and real time embedded systems.
- Interpret physical failure analysis results and developing reliability failure models
- Drive successful test and reliability engineering programs that advance Solid-State-Memory in Micron’s system products
- Set the bar for quality and merit in product design and test methodologies for system products
- Helping to developed well-crafted and targeted validation tests
- Partner with Process and Manufacturing teams by providing assistance with both internal qualification and customer implementation, yield and test time optimization through data and component analysis, targeted defect driven program development at wafer and component test step

- Effective communication and interaction with remote development, manufacturing, and quality teams; improving existing and future product performance
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) with at least 7 years of working experience.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in the data storage industry
- Firmware experience is preferred but not necessary
- Hands-on experience and skill in developing algorithms, test scripts, as well as component level failure analysis of memory and error correction within a lab and/or production environment
- The capability to clearly and succinctly document requirements and drives them into future Micron system products.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of computer architecture (hardware and software), including general system data integrity.
- Strong leadership skills and multi-functional teamwork, including experience as dedicated specialist in storage media integration
- Self-motivated and intense problem-solving skills, including a propensity to seek new solutions
- Willingness and capability to travel international.
