Job Overview:
As an Expeditor in a Mechanical & Electrical company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials and supplies to support the project. The Expeditor will work closely with various departments, including procurement, logistics, and project, warehousing to coordinate and expedite the delivery of goods. The primary objective is to minimize delays and disruptions by ensuring that materials are procured, delivered, and available as per project schedules.
Job Description:
● Collaborate with project managers to ensure that material deliveries align with project timelines.
● Communicate project’s required delivery dates regularly with suppliers, ensuring that materials
are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
● Work closely with the procurement and warehousing departments to manage inventory levels
and prevent shortages.
● Resolve any issues related to late deliveries, damaged, material shortages, or incorrect
shipments.
● Update schedule on a weekly basis and adjust schedule and delivery priorities as needed to
meet changing demands.
● Expedite critical materials to meet project timelines and communicate any potential delays.
● Improve delivery timelines and costs with suppliers and logistics partners.
● Assist in cost control measures by optimizing delivery schedules and minimizing delays.
● Solicit updates of material approval status, procured material readiness, incoming inspections,
deliveries from supporting departments.
● Prepare reports summarizing the status of purchase orders, deliveries, and potential risks on
project schedules.
Job Requirements:
● Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience.
● Bachelor’s degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related
field.
● Proven experience in expediting or procurement.
● Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
● Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
● Proficient in using relevant software and tools for tracking and reporting.
