Risk & Compliance Manager

Due to our company's continued growth and expansion, we are now hiring the following position


Risk & Compliance Manager


Enterprise Risk Management

• Assist the regional CRO in development and review of local Risk

Management Framework to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and alignment with corresponding Group standards and guidelines.

• Act as an internal advisor on Enterprise Risk Management and

Operational Risk Management related matters.

• In partnership with business stakeholders, reshape our approach to ongoing management of risk and controls.

• Assist the Regional Chief Risk Officer in preparing risk management reporting and insights to relevant Branch Committees.

• Assist the Chief Risk Officer in building a risk aware culture across the organisation.


Incident & Issue Management

• Be the liaison point for incident and issue management across the APAC region

• Follow up incident and issues remediation actions.

Information & Cyber Security

• Perform IT Security Risk Assessments and Third-Party Risk

Assessment

• Assess any Information Security incident assessment and follow-up of remediation action items.


Business Continuity and Recovery Plan

• Develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions in collaboration with departments.

• Create and facilitate systemic testing program and practice drills for BCP and Recovery Plan execution.


Operational

• Be involved in and drive local and regional Risk & Compliance

projects addressing incoming changes to regulation and legislation.

• Assist the CFO on MAS regulatory engagements if required.

• Development and delivery of relevant training to help build

knowledge and understanding of the regional Risk Management

Framework.


Key responsibilities:

COMPLIANCE

• Act as an internal advisor on compliance matters in respect to

Direct Insurer financial services licence, Insurance Act 1966 and

Singapore General Insurance Code of Practice obligations and in

the development of processes and actions to ensure compliance

with existing and new obligations in Singapore.

• Developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures and programs to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practise in Singapore.

• Conducting Compliance deep dive reviews in pivotal areas such as underwriting, claims.

• Assist in the establishment of Ethical Dividers, when required.

• Maintaining Compliance Calendar of legal and regulatory events, as required.

• Maintain various registers, including breaches and incidents,

complaints, training, conflict of interests, remuneration and

regulatory change tracker.

• Manage the local obligations register and calendar for Singapore.

• Manage Licensing and Sanctions & Embargo related questions

including communication with regulators, such as Monetary

Authority of Singapore (MAS), when required.

• Prepare any annual Singapore GICOP reporting submission to the MAS, where appropriate.

• Developing and delivering of relevant training, to help build

knowledge and understanding of obligations as a financial services licence holder.


Accident & Health Business

• Coordinate the Compliance Health Check and Annual Compliance Attestation process of Brokers/Agents and Third-Party Administrators, as required.

• Review of customer facing documents (such as, Marketing material, websites) to ensure HDI’s interests are protected.

Skills & experience

 Education:

• University graduate in Commerce, Law, Business or other related discipline.


 Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience within the General Insurance industry in a compliance role, in Singapore. At least two years in a risk management position required.

• Good understanding of local regulatory requirements, Enterprise Risk Management, Information Security and Business Continuity Management.

• Working knowledge/ experience with MS Office product suite.

• Time management - Strong organisational skills and capability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities. Work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Problem solving - breaks down and analyses highly complex problems and uses specialist techniques to solve problems and recognises the impacts the solutions may have. Generates solutions that are right for the Branch / Group. Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.

• Delivery and accountability - able to balance and resolve conflicting priorities Able to challenge processes and constantly looking to drive efficiencies.

• Collaboration with others - identifies and engages a diverse range of contacts and builds alliances to establish mutually beneficial working arrangements. Ability to fit in with the team, organisational structures and reporting lines.

• Customer focus - able to deliver to internal clients across a range of work
