Position Overview:
A crucial leadership role of the company, the mission of the general manager is to help the transition of the organization from a start-up status to a well-organized company with robust structure and processes in place to ensure a sustainable business growth.
The key responsibilities of this role involve all aspects from strategic decision to operation topics: strategic business direction, overall smooth operation of projects concerning quality and safety, marketing, HR management, streamline processes, system implementation, reporting tools, financial results, business steering and control, eventually achieve company goals in all major areas.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide overall leadership and direction for the company
· Define business lines
· Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity
Customer management: process of quotation and claim/collection, quote to cash
Supplier management: process of purchasing -> quote to pay
Interaction with project managers to monitor project progress and performance, ensure smooth completion.
· Marketing and Business Development
Branding
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, subcontractors and partners
· Develop 5-year business plan
· Define organization chart and reporting line according to strategic business development needs
· Clear job description of all the positions
· Build up, develop and coach a team of project managers, engineers and other staff
· HR system implementation: timesheet, payroll etc.
· Enhance booking keeping
· Develop a full set of analysis tools to:
do various financial analysis
track project status
analyze operation efficiency and productivity
help steer on-going projects
support decision on any specific topic
· Initiate continuous improvement to drive operational excellence
· Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all project teams and departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· At least 15 years of working experiences with 5+ years senior management role
· Experience in construction industry / architecture / landscape architecture design
· Background of financial management on a senior position
· Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management, forecast, financial analysis, commercial finance, financial modelling, quotation.
· Experience of setting up organizational structure, business / operation processes, reporting systems for a start-up company so that a solid foundation for development is in place. The best case would be design / construction / renovation company.
· Leadership and Communication: Ability to inspire and lead teams while effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
· Strategic Thinking: Capability to think long-term and create strategies that align with the company’s vision.
