Position Summary
You will primarily be responsible to work closely with business stakeholders, other project managers as well as resources across functional technology departments, to ensure timely and successful project deliveries.
Projects may range from minor to large-scale new business ventures containing major technology upgrades and/or implementations.
You will be expected to provide subject matter expertise in areas including, project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas, as well as drive risk/issue resolution and appropriate escalations
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end project SDLC cycle across the various stages such as: requirements gathering, solutioning & design, planning, quality assurance, and implementation into production
- Work closely with various technical teams across the Technology division to identify non-functional requirements, to ensure sustainable operational feasibility post-implementation
- Establish and prepare project plans, risk management plans, project milestones and deliverables in consultation with business users and various technical teams involved in the project delivery
- Analyze and document requirements in close liaison with various stakeholders involved in the project; drawing together information needs from different business units across the organization
- Manage project scopes, project budgets, resource planning, and manpower availability and seek approval for any changes to project scope, project schedule or cost.
- Actively engage all stakeholders involved to identify project risks and apply feasible mitigation controls to ensure minimal impact to overall project deliverables
- Conduct regular meetings with project steering committee & senior leadership to update project statuses allowing for timely escalations for any gaps or potential risks identified.
- Prepare project matrices to track and analyze project performance, cost performance, time schedules while constantly looking to make improvements to efficiency and resource optimization
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related Technology disciplines with equivalent business experience and 10 years of progressive working experience for a major company or division of a medium to large corporation.
- At least 10 years’ of progressive experience in managing medium to large scale projects in a large organization
- Experience creating work breakdown structures (WBS) – translating requirements into tasks is preferred
- Experience with project management practices and tools to create, manage, track project performance, cost, is preferred
- Knowledge of Java/J2EE, relational database management system concepts, and object design as related to software application solutions would be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism through interactions with stakeholders across all levels
- Driven and motivated individual with keen eye for detail with great organizational skills that thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Prior experience in the Payments processing / Transaction Banking Systems would be highly advantageous
