The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 12-month contract at the Science of Learning in Education Centre, Office of Education Research.
Project Title: SoLEC
Project Introduction: Science of Learning in Education Centre synthesizes research investigations and findings across different disciplines, including neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, technology, education, and possibly others. We bridge experimental research conducted in controlled settings with research that is “in the wild” such as in schools, classrooms, and beyond. We hope to bring translational gains to lab based research, and vice versa, where complex problems of practice can also be informed by experimental research evidences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, psychology, computer science, neurological science or equivalent from a reputable university.
- Prior experience in educational research is preferred.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination:
- Manage and support ideation of 1-3 joint projects
- Coordinate and support new project proposals for joint grant submissions
Communication Support:
- Set up and maintain Alumni connections within SoLEC
- Assist in drafting communication materials on the science of learning for the NIE community
- SoLEC website content updates editor
Administrative Support:
- Organize and staff introductory research meetings with potential collaborators and funders
- Assist in preparing progress reports, slides, and papers related to the science of learning
- Support faculty in literature review activities
- Support in the maintenance of project database
- Support and coordinate visits including logistics and report drafting for visits
- Support scheduling of SoLEC Brownbag sessions and organization of SGA SoL Symposiums
- Support SoLEC in research centre-wide events such as SGA SoL symposium 2025
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
