Job Scope
1. Food Preparation:
- Basic Prep Work: Chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and measuring ingredients.
- Assisting with Cooking: Helping with basic cooking tasks like stirring, mixing, or grilling under the supervision of chefs or cooks.
2. Kitchen Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Cleaning kitchen surfaces and floors.
- Sanitation: Ensuring that the kitchen is sanitary and meets health and safety regulations.
3. Stock Management:
- Inventory Control: Checking and maintaining stock levels. Notifying the head chef or kitchen manager when supplies are running low.
- Storage: Properly storing ingredients and supplies to prevent spoilage and contamination.
4. Equipment Handling:
- Using Kitchen Tools: Operating basic kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, and ovens.
- Maintenance: Assisting in the upkeep and basic maintenance of kitchen equipment.
5. Food Safety:
- Handling: Following food safety guidelines to avoid cross-contamination.
- Temperature Monitoring: Ensuring food is cooked and stored at appropriate temperatures.
6. Assistance:
- Supporting Staff: Assisting chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed.
