Position Overview: To handle all warehouse activities including incoming, despatch and transfers to and from production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving of products through unloading of trucks, checking accuracy of deliveries and processing of documentation.
- Safe, accurate storage of inventory within the warehouse.
- Responsible for on-time transfer of raw materials to the production floor and collection of finished products from production.
- Shipping of products through analysis of order information, pulling of inventory and processing of shipments in accordance with customer expectations.
- Performs packaging and pallet/crate preparation to preclude damage during shipment.
- Works in a professional manner across all levels of the organization.
- Maintains cycle count accuracy of assigned areas.
- Participates in the physical inventory events as required.
- Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly condition.
- Assists with the facility, warehouse and maintenance projects as requested.
- Performs light, non-complex assembly tasks when necessary.
- Assists with the training of other employees as requested.
Position Requirements:
- NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma in Chemical or equivalent.
- 1-3 years working experience in Pharmaceutical. Chemical or related industries.
- The ability to operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, banding/strapping machines etc.
- Possess a good working attitude and sense of responsibility.
- Good understanding of safe working practices, and good documentation practice.
- A team player.
Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:
- Act independently with leadership and guidance from Plant Manager or Senior Process Engineer
Working Hours:
- 5 days work week.
Working Environment:
- Work usually performed in warehouse and production floor setting.
- No smoking policy applies
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Warehouse equipment including fork-lift truck and pallet truck, personal computer, copier, phone and other standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of warehouse equipment.
- The ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, lift and walk for extended periods of time.
- The ability to lift/manipulate products up to 30kgs.
