1ST GRINDING DEPARTMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and ensure smooth efficient flow of daily production in department and to maintain the quality of the products to meet customer expectation simultaneously.
DUTIES:
1. Coordinate 1st Grinding schedule parts flow according to Production Planning, ensuring timely and efficient production
2. Verify the use of correct documents, drawings and master bearings during the manufacturing process to maintain quality standards
3. Operate Outer Diameter (O/D) grinding machines to ensure good outer dimensional stability and rotational accuracy of each bearing and taper.
4. Operate Side Lap machines to polish the inner and outer ring exterior, ensuring a smooth and accurate surface
5. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance or repair needs
6. Collaborate with maintenance technicians to address any mechanical or technical issues with the grinding and polishing machines
7. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as necessary to maintain product integrity
8. Provide training and guidance to machine operators to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment
9. Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address production issues and improve efficiency
10. Maintain accurate inventory records for tooling, materials and spare parts to support production operations
11. Act as a liaison between 1st Grinding Department, Quality Control and Maintenance, to ensure a smooth communication and coordination of activities
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in quality, productivity and cost reduction
13. Plan and execute improvement projects from conception to completion
14. Compile audit work papers and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
15. Assist in the development of audit protocols and procedures
16. Perform other administrative duties as assigned
17. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
18. Review and recommend changes for department procedures for work environment and safety aspects (E.g. IATF 16949, ISO14001, Safety Management Systems, etc.)
19. Attend meetings, reviews, discussion and coordinating with Production Supervisors to achieve department objectives, while performing any other instructions required by superiors in the interest of the organisation
20. To plan the efficient utilisation of own work time to carry out the above listed duties of the designation and other where applicable, as well as any other specific instructions or assignments given by superior from time to time, in respect of matters related.
