Group Accounts & Sales Manager

GAC Singapore offers a full range of shipping, logistics and marine services. As one of the largest ship agents in Singapore, we offer a complete range of Shipping Services and manage all types of port calls.


The position will maintain, develop and increase sales and client support for the shipping/hub services.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


1. Responsible for Sales, Marketing and Business Developments functions to promote GAC in Asia Pacific and Indian Sub-Continent regions.

2. Strategic development of credible customer base in the regions. Solicit for new business through

the use of GAC Sales & Marketing system and/ leads/ introductions from GAC Shipping

colleagues.

3. Study market trends and apply the results to draw out effective sales strategies and plans for

broadening the customer base.

4. Maintain contact with existing GAC clients and keep them informed about existing and

new services offered.

5. Visit client offices on a planned or client request basis and handle enquiries by phone/ fax/ email/

etc.

6. Negotiate contracts on behalf of GAC and GAC clients for spot or term contracts.

7. Direct clients to other services offered by GAC. i.e., Agency/ Logistics/ BF.

8. Handle all enquiries from customers regarding the performance of GAC and maintain

records of same. Log any reported deficiencies.

9. Keep oneself informed of developments within the shipping industry in general and particularly in

own sales area.

10. Regularly monitor products and sales tools offered by competitors and initiate/ implement plans to

protect/ promote market share of GAC.

11. Stay informed about clients’ financial strength/ reputation, maintain the GAC Sales & Marketing

database.

12. Assist with collection of outstanding funds.

13. File contact reports in the GAC Sales & Marketing database for all client visits made, in order to

capture market information.

14. Admin and accounts functions related to GAC. Prepare KPI reports.

Prepare and send monthly and quarterly performance reports to Sales Director, being part of the

GAC Sales & Marketing Team (SMT).

15. Attend trade conferences/ exhibitions as required.


Requirements


  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an equivalent role.
  • Possess good working knowledge of Singapore ports and Maritime regulations.
  • Possess commercial acumen and drive to develop new businesses.
  • Effective communication and people management skills.
