The data team in Tech in Asia is at the forefront of building our internal analytics products, aiming to deliver comprehensive data and insights about Asia’s dynamic tech landscape. To spearhead this initiative, we are in search of a highly motivated and seasoned Lead Data Analyst to join our team.
In this pivotal role, you will not only contribute to our data analytics endeavors but also lead and mentor other analysts. You will play a crucial role in driving Tech in Asia's data democratization and governance efforts, ensuring that data is accessible, understandable, well organized and utilized effectively across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and implement strategies for data democratization, making data accessible and actionable for stakeholders across the organization
- Oversee data governance processes to maintain data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulations and lead development of datamart
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on data-related matters
- Drive the development of data reports, visualizations, and analysis to provide valuable insights into Asia’s tech scene
- Identify gaps and issues in data collection processes and propose long-term solutions to enhance data integrity and efficiency
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to conceptualize, create, and implement new data products and services
- Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in data analytics and leverage them to drive innovation and improvement
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role
- Extensive knowledge and experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, Presto), BI tools (e.g., Tableau), and ETL frameworks
- Proficiency in statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (e.g., Python, R, Excel, SPSS, SAS)
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and insights effectively to business stakeholders, demonstrating clarity and impact
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to develop innovative solutions
- Experience in collaborating with business users to understand their needs and develop data solutions using a systematic methodology
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field
Good to have:
- Experience with deployment of production-grade analytics pipelines
- Proficiency in building web applications, microservices, and cloud services (e.g., AWS)
- Familiarity with Generative AI, NLP, graph theory, and machine learning algorithms
