Contract Period: 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025 with option to extend until 31 Dec 2026
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., inclusive of 1 hour mins lunch break
- Fridays: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., inclusive of 1 hour lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Job Description:
- As directed by the teachers-in-charge, prepare and set up apparatus, equipment and other materials for practical lessons. Retrieve,clear away and clean apparatus and equipment, including safe disposal of waste after the lessons
- Provide direct technical support to the teaching and learning of science (and maths) in the three science laboratories; carry out risk assessments together with the teachers whenever appropriate or necessary, to ensure safety
- Keep the three science labs & its preparation room clean, sanitised, safe, well-organised and clutter-free. Ensure the three labs are safe and secure when not in use
- Maintain the scientific instruments, and ensuring that supplies are accessible for teachers to use for lessons.
- Report to the HODs of Science and Mathematics
- Assist with the establishment and maintenance of Science (& Maths) Departments’ resources
- Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and resource materials
- Check deliveries & reorder essential items as necessary
- Carry out and arrange for the maintenance and repair of apparatus and equipment. Upkeep required records and logs of all maintenance and servicing of equipment
- Perform simple administrative and office work such as maintaining records and inventory stock lists, preparing labels and posters for science labs and liasing with vendors for quotations for items ordered
- Operate and maintain basic office equipment and material
- Any other jobs assigned by the school such as covering reception duties, packing of resources, or supporting the adhoc tasks needed for special school events and etc.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess GCE ‘O’ or its equivalent (Critical Criteria)
- Preferably First-aid trained
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Meticulous with good planning and organising abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Candidates with the relevant experience working in school’s science laboratories and managing maths manipulatives will be preferred
