Job Requirements
- At least Chief Engineer sea-going experiences, with qualification in Certification of Competency Class 1 Motor ( COC Class 1)
- Minimum 5 years’ Superintendent experience, preferably with Management of Chemical Tankers
- Possess good working knowledge in Ship Management
- Possess good technical and problem solving skills
- Possess good business & financial acumen with leadership & communication skills.
- Possess strong strategic abilities and a wide network of contacts.
- Results-oriented and performance driven
- Able to travel within short notice as required
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Responsible for effective implementation of prevention maintenance of hull, main machinery, deck machinery, electrical equipment, etc, as described in the PMS and set by Class/Flag State requirements
- Monitoring the Class and Flag State requirements planning / supervising the required surveys. Ensuring that the certificate of assigned vessels is maintained in accordance with the relevant Class / Flag State requirements
- Keeping abreast with the Statutory and Class regulations and standards
- Attending and sailing with vessels, monitoring conditions and preparing condition/attendance reports, including any comments on cargo operations, maintenance and crew performance.
- Analyzing the result assigned vessels’ inspections and following up all reports of vessels condition and performance
- Issuing maintenance instruction (job orders) following vessels’ inspections
- Assisting the shipboard personnel to eliminate problems and/or malfunctions
- Developing efficient repair methods and evaluating/selecting, in cooperation with the Senior Manager, quality sub-contractors
- Provide technical assistance and advice to ships both at home port and overseas
- Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs and survey when required and determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance
- Work closely with the HSSE department to ensure smooth and successful implementation of system and policies for the Division
- Evaluating repair quotations, selecting repair Companies and location of the repairs, based on the ‘best quality of works’ / ‘cost’ relation, taking into account the vessels’ itinerary and Charter Party obligations
- Implementing the specifications and repairs effectively and efficiently to the Owners’ favor in a timely manner, avoiding any delays to the vessels’ commercial schedules
- Ensure and maintain vessels’ zero loss time accident record and to report all vessel incidents, near misses to prevent and eliminate potential incidents
- Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required.
