Job Description

We are currently hiring a Community Manager to be part of the incubation team working on providing support to start-ups incubating with NUS Enterprise at BLOCK71. The main function will be strategise, coordinating, organizing and managing the workshops, clinics, and networking sessions that nurtures the startup companies' growth. You will also work on creating platforms and opportunities for start-ups to network and interact with relevant stakeholders corporates, investors, government agencies and other enablers within the start-up ecosystem. Support startup founders to progress in their entreprenuersial journey. As and when required, you will also work with the team to provide operational and administration support that is related to the incubating centres and/or incubated start-ups.


1. Community Engagement:

  • Act as the main point of contact for incubator members, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Foster a sense of community among members through regular communication and engagement.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among members, mentors, investors, and industry experts.

2. Event Planning and Management:

  • Organize and host events, workshops, and meetups that provide value to the community.
  • Coordinate with speakers, mentors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
  • Promote events through various channels to ensure high participation and engagement.

3. Member Support:

  • Assist members in navigating the resources and opportunities available within the incubator & the NUS Enterprise Ecosystem support and programs.
  • Provide support in accessing mentorship, funding, and other growth opportunities.
  • Gather feedback from members to continuously improve the incubator's offerings.

4. Content Creation and Communication:

  • Develop and distribute regular newsletters, updates, and other communications to keep members informed and engaged.
  • Create content that highlights member achievements, upcoming events, and other relevant information. Strategise communications, outreach and marketing efforts to relevant stakeholders both internally and externally for a consistent BLOCK71 messaging and branding.
  • Create collaboration opportunities with start-up ecosystems players through events and initiatives, to leverage on their expertise, resources and network that will provide growth to our start-up community.

5. Partnerships and Outreach:

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including local businesses, academic institutions, and other organizations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and partnership that benefit the community.

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Manage member onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of community activities and member interactions.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the incubator's operations.

7. Leadership and Teamwork

  • Inspire and motivate other team members to align with the company's mission and objectives.
  • Communicate a NUS Enterprise clear vision and goals for the team
  • Develop a conducive working culture encouraging teamwork
  • Analyze trends and data to make informed decisions

Qualifications

  • Degree Holder with at least 5 years' of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with managing start-up incubation, and accelerators
  • Resourceful and comfortable in fast changing environment
  • Knowledge of the local startup ecosystem and key stakeholders
  • Proven events management skills
  • Proven disposition as an effective team player
  • Excellent communication skills – good grasp of written and spoken English mandatory, good knowledge of secondary languages will be an advantage
  • Passionate about entrepreneurship,startups and innovation
