Manage the purchasing of raw materials, parts, machinery, and services for the production system, ensuring the best price, quality, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate requisitions, especially for engineering changes, to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Maintain supplier databases and price information.
- Negotiate prices and contract terms.
- Approve bills for payment as authorized.
- Ensure purchasing documentation complies with ISO and GPP standards.
- Qualify vendors and monitor their performance for quality, service, and pricing.
- Address supply chain issues, working closely with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Collaborate with QA, Engineering, and suppliers to resolve line issues.
- Liaise between suppliers and the plant regularly.
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering
- Professional purchasing management certification is advantageous
- Knowledge of MRP/QAD/SAP systems is advantageous.
