Assistant Manager/Manager (Project Development & Research)

Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development & Planning, you will play a role in leading analysing industry trends, data, and providing strategic insights to senior management. You will also assist in developing and assisting in the implementation of strategic activities that contribute to the achievement of the organization's objectives, foster collaboration and innovation, and enhance the organization's reputation and impact within its sector or industry. You will take part and assist to develop cross-functional projects with other teams in new areas of work where LB would be looking to grow.

You will develop strategies to develop LB’s research capability, enhance our research impact, visibility and reputation of LB. You will cultivate professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and bridge internal programme with external research stakeholders. The role also entails project management, budgeting and staff supervision.


Responsibilities:

1) Projects Development:

  • Stay abreast of global trends and developments within the sector, ensuring that analysis and recommendations are current, relevant and strategic to LB.
  • Develop and drive internal programme data collection and analysis (trends, scenarios) relevant to organisation’s goals including aiding operational excellence and overall clients’ satisfaction.
  • Develop and draft prospective proposals/grants i.e. RFPs that are in alignment to MOH and AIC’s goals and priorities.
  • Synthesize findings from research and analysis into clear, concise reports and presentations, highlighting key growth areas, challenges, and strategic opportunities to senior management.
  • Assist Senior management in Strategic Planning activities that are instrumental in key business decisions and implementation.
  • Support LB leadership on special assignments and projects.
  • Assist in cross-functional proposals or reports requested by the Director/ED
  • Contribute in cross-functional projects with Training & Volunteer Management teams.

- Research:

  • Develop & implement LB’s research agenda and strategic priorities, including identifying the research needs of stakeholders.
  • Seek, establish and enhance partnerships with research partners, including academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts.
  • Facilitate and oversee collaborations between research parties and programme teams to foster productive research projects.
  • Lead research and analytics projects from conception to completion, including study design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Interpret research findings and translate them into actionable insights and recommendations for strategic & programmatic decisions.
  • Plan and organise research-related events to solicit input and/or disseminate research findings to targeted audiences i.e. LB conference to contribute to foster knowledge exchange among stakeholders and sector capability building.
  • Apply for competitive research grants, supporting grant proposals and presentation decks for research and programmes to attract philanthropy funding.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with interest in Social Work, Social Sciences, Gerontology, Psychology
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, draw meaningful insights, and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to communicate in Mandarin will be an advantage to converse with non-English speaking elderly.
