Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the framework for Learning Point's Primary English curriculum and pedagogy, ensuring alignment with MOE guidelines while creating an engaging, challenging learning experience that drives results.
- Clearly communicate the distinctive aspects of LP's Primary English curriculum through well-crafted materials and effective lesson delivery.
- Lead the curriculum planning, design, research, and innovation efforts, ensuring up-to-date and relevant content.
- Stay abreast of curricular trends and promptly integrate changes from Singapore’s MOE guidelines into the LP curriculum.
- Recruit and manage a team of curriculum writers, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality submissions and adherence to deadlines.
- Assess students' learning needs, identifying gaps, and design innovative programmes to address them.
- Actively explore internal and external opportunities to grow LP’s student base by developing new and engaging programmes.
- Create innovative and effective holiday programmes aimed at capturing growth opportunities.
- Take ownership of the curriculum development for 2-3 grade levels, in addition to overseeing the broader curriculum team.
- Conduct termly level meetings to communicate curriculum objectives with teachers and gather feedback on lesson effectiveness.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons for up to 5-7 classes per week, demonstrating strong classroom management and effective lesson planning based on the Company’s endorsed methodologies.
- Utilize teaching materials to create an engaging and stimulating classroom environment that enhances students’ learning experiences.
- Mark and grade student assignments promptly, providing valuable feedback, and ensuring assignments are returned by the next lesson.
- Efficiently manage classroom administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking and student file checks.
- Take initiative in arranging "catch-up" sessions for students who miss classes when alternative make-up sessions are unavailable.
- Build strong relationships with students’ parents, providing regular feedback on student progress and offering suggestions on how parents can support their child’s learning at home.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure a positive customer experience and work towards minimizing class withdrawal rates.
- Undertake projects and initiatives as directed by the Management team.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in curriculum planning, development, training, and teaching English and creative writing within the enrichment industry in Singapore.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing a curriculum team.
- Expertise in designing various assessments, including formative, summative, performance-based, and portfolio assessments.
- Familiarity with the MOE primary English syllabus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with software such as Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, with strong planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate assessment results and recommendations to educators, administrators, and stakeholders.
