• Assist in the development and improvement of workflows and processes in BMU
• Assist in the development of algorithm for bed allocation based on hospital’s clinical segmentation and patients’ requirements
• Assist in the bed assignment operations for patients admitted through ED, Clinics or for scheduled operations
• Perform bed allocation duties and assign beds in accordance to the hospital guidelines
• Coordinate patient movement with wards and other departments
• Identify potential bed tight situation and activate bed tight measures
• Liase with other hospitals and LTC operator for direct admission, when required
• Handle bed enquiries and respond to or follow up on bed/transfer requests
• Optimise manpower utilisation through effective rostering
• Coordinate OJT programs for new staff by identifying training needs, plan and organise programs and schedules, continuously evaluate and monitor staff progress, initiate reviews/feedback session
• Assist to develop training materials and provide training to frontline staff in the areas of bed allocation in accordance to guideline.
• Generating and analysing information to identify trends and provide key analysis for effective Management decision making and action
• Provide secretariat support to divisional/departmental meeting, committees, taskforce and workgroup meetings as required
• Where directed by Reporting Officer, and/or Director, Department of Inpatient Operations to support in other WH-related projects and tasks
Requirements
- Min Degree with 2 years working experience preferred, preferably in BMU, in an operations or service background
- Experience in healthcare / hotel operations preferred
