Position Summary
- Deliver IT infrastructure services strategies and manage infrastructure-related issues that impact business performance. This includes the evaluation, conceptualization, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of IT infrastructure systems.
- Achieve short-term operational targets for the INFSVC division.
- Have a fair degree of autonomy in determining work processes within the job area and review existing work processes to recommend small improvements.
- Guide junior-level staff on task accomplishment within a defined job area.
Key Responsibilities
Network Administration
- Perform system and network administration in a heterogeneous environment (production, DR, test) including network and security equipment (e.g., routers, firewalls, cryptography equipment), telecommunication links, Sun Solaris servers, and Windows-based servers.
- Configure firewall rules and monitor intrusion detection systems.
- Perform system and network upgrades and enhancements on IT infrastructure components.
- Implement network, operating system, and product-specific security hardening and patches.
- Monitor obsolescence of IT infrastructure components (network systems).
- Monitor expiry and perform renewal of network system passwords and certificates.
- Implement a schedule for system and network backup operations to ensure data recoverability and business continuity.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure (network systems) and conduct regular disaster recovery testing and component switchover exercises.
Incident & Problem Management
- Provide 2nd level network support and resolve incidents and problems in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Perform problem diagnosis on incidents and propose and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Change & Release Management
- Schedule and release network system changes to the production environment in accordance with change management processes and procedures.
Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all IT infrastructure components used in the production environment.
Capacity & Performance Management
- Perform infrastructure system and network capacity monitoring and planning.
- Monitor and perform performance tuning to optimize network performance.
Process Management
- Devise and implement processes supporting IT service management, in conformance with corporate security policies and guidelines.
Project Management & Support
- Provide infrastructure (system & network) support to projects in accordance with project timelines.
- Manage infrastructure enhancement/upgrade projects according to established project management guidelines.
Documentation
- Develop and maintain technical and process documentation to support IT infrastructure.
Requirements
Qualification
- Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Preferably attained CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CCSA, CCSE certifications.
Experience and Technical Skills
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in managing network and security equipment such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, routers, switches, load balancers, VPN, and DNS.
- Experience or industry certification in firewall and public cloud administration is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
