Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for Japanese cuisine, capable of upholding the high standards of Ryu Ichi while delivering an exceptional dining experience. The Restaurant Operations Manager at Ryu Ichi Singapore is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficiency, profitability, and high-quality customer service. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with suppliers, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and delivering an exceptional dining experience reflective of Japanese culinary traditions.
Core Duties
- Responsible for day-to-day business operations, growth of sales, performance and staff management.
- Lead the floor team to drive sales revenue, increase customer service level and ensure operational standards were met.
- Develop and groom the floor team to ensure career progression, capability improvement and skills upgrade.
- Work with the Marketing team to organise marketing activities such as promotional events and discount schemes.
- Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the restaurant operations.
- Ensuring licensing, safety, hygiene, health, cleanliness, and sanitation standards are in strict compliance with legislation and guidelines.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory, ensuring the availability of seasonal ingredients and supplies.
- Build lasting relationships with guests through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Competencies
- Experienced in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably with deep understanding of Japanese cuisine, including ingredients, and preparation techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a chef and manage the unique demands of a premium, intimate dining environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Manage budgets, stocks and cost control.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
