APJ North (APJN) Consulting Services Director

The APJ North (APJN) Consulting Services Director is a senior leader who reports to the Senior Director of global consulting. Thisleader will work closely with local practice leadership and global leadership to include cross-functional partners for service delivery excellence in the APJN region. This business leader is responsible for the delivery of Incident Response, Penetration Testing, and other consulting services. As a business leader this role will be responsible for achieving select practice metrics (NPS, Revenue, Margin, etc.) and partner closely with sales, marketing and other organizations to help grow the practice. This is a strategic leadership position which requires strong local leadership presence through team meetings, all hands, strategy sessions, and other workshops to ensure the team’s delivery is customer delighting and at the bleeding edge.

Mentoring practice leads on service delivery excellence and consulting skills, as well as working directly with customers to resolve any blockers/issues, is a key component of the role. The successful candidate will have experience in developing, managing, and operating consulting teams.


Role Responsibilities

  • Help develop and lead a multi-year service, delivery, and financial strategy to meet company objectives and reinforce our position as an industry leader in offensive security and incident response.
  • Lead a high performing team of managers and technical consultants delivering a variety of security consulting engagements (penetration testing, application security testing, adversarial exercises, emergency incident response, table top exercises, etc.)
  • Help manage a P&L including forecasting, backlog management, utilization, and scheduling.
  • Partner with the sales organization, channel partners, and other business development leaders and be seen as a “go to” for complex consulting needs.
  • Build and advance cross-functional relationships with Secureworks to include the Incident Response Team, Adversary Group Counter Threat Unit, Marketing, Sales, and other cross-functional leaders.
  • Identify opportunities – people, process, and technology -- to improve efficiencies within the team.
  • Represent the consulting services portfolio; identify and champion new services, capabilities, and offers; provide thought leadership; and develop an associated go-to-market strategy for the services in the portfolio
  • Drive teams to consensus on business priorities, delivery best practices, and implementation of new ideas. Willingness to contribute ideas, listen to others, and learn from others. Challenge the status quo.
  • Foster career development and champion career development opportunities for the team (conferences, training, certifications, mentoring, etc.)
  • Own NPS and ensure practice meets/exceeds expected targets. Maintain a culture of premium customer service.
  • Mentor local practice leadership, team leads and consultants.

Requirements

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese languages, to work with critical stakeholders from Japan.
  • People management experience within a consulting organization.
  • Experience managing a consulting P&L.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience briefing executive management.
  • Possess a desire to work with clients to solve complex security issues, including at times of crisis.
  • Ability to drive cross functional teams towards a common objective.
  • Experience working with global, remote, multi-cultural teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate and complete tasks within tight timeframes to meets deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starting, proactive, motivated, team player.
  • Results orientated and customer focused.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgment in resolving issues.
  • Effective at managing conflict and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and leading technical teams in a matrixed consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-performing teams as well as maintain and enhance a strong team culture.

Preferences

  • 10+ years of information security experience.
  • Professional degree relevant to cybersecurity or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical or professional certifications, such as GCFA, CISA or CISSP, are a plus.
  • Experience working with Cyber Insurers and Law Firms.
  • Experience working with sales in scoping engagements, creating proposals, presenting on QBR’s, etc.
