The Distribution Manager is to manage the central planning & distribution for the Value Stream to ensure optimum flow & timely product delivery, including maximizing operational & commercial aspects of stock management. He/she will manage a diverse team with activities covering MRP planning, stock control, purchasing of components, final assembly & inspection.
Duties
- Collaborating with Value Stream Manager and the Flow Manager to ensure on-time delivery & quality in a Lean manner using Policy Deployment for continuous improvement.
- To champion initiatives in Lean Sigma practices, HSE, Ergonomics, standardizing best practices in the Value Stream in compliance with Group-level policies.
- To deliver what the customer (internal & external) values by efficiently utilizing resources & adhering to Lean principles.
- Able to balance between the Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Business (VOB) needs.
- Responsible for managing the gear input (for example: input dates, temporary storage, delay input, capability list etc.).
- To maintain the stock levels while ensure availability of stock at the point of use.
- Ensuring stock accuracy and efficient utilization of working capital.
- Measure and report on various key performance indicators (KPI) linked to operational performance of the Value Stream operations.
- Act as the driver and catalyst for change in continuous improvement activities using Lean-Sigma tools & methodologies

Requirements
- Engineering graduate combined with relevant and significant industrial management experience.
- A comprehensive understanding of the MRO business environment and its commercial drivers & customer needs.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean principles tools and improvement techniques coupled with a proven track record of implementing value-added improvements.
- Manages both operational & commercial budgets.
- Experience in a master scheduling role would be an advantage
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills with customers (internal & external).
- Strong commercial acumen and business awareness, coupled with concern for impact.
- Ability to rapidly evaluate and analyze numerical data & information.
- Flexible and adaptable with high tolerance for ambiguity.
