Job Description
As a Principal Data Scientist, you are responsible for:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for AI and data science initiatives organisation-wide, including the annual Data Science innovation agenda.
- Spearhead the development and deployment of advanced analytics models and machine learning algorithms in critical domains such as clinical notes, medical imagery, and patient data.
- Focus on operational excellence by enhancing data science capabilities across NHG cluster, conceptualising and delivering transformative healthcare solutions.
- Lead the exploration and implementation of sophisticated neural network models for tasks like text analysis and opinion mining.
- Collaborate closely with the AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to identify and address risks in AI projects, establish policy processes, and ensure fairness in AI models and datasets.
- Streamline data analysis processes and systems for improved efficiency, maintenance, and scalability.
- Mentor and guide Senior Data Scientists and team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and data science, driving the adoption of relevant methodologies and technologies within the organisation.
- Effectively communicate complex data science concepts and analysis findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should hold a minimum master's degree in computer science or related fields, equipped with over 7 years of hands-on experience in developing comprehensive data analytics solutions and machine learning pipelines. They must demonstrate experience in leading a team, programming in AI-related frameworks such as R or Python, assessing computational demands, optimising performance, and deploying machine learning models on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
