Proficiency in VMware (ESXi and vCenter) Virtualization: Expertise in building, managing, and troubleshooting VMware environments is crucial.
Experience with Multiple Virtualization Platforms: Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Hypervisors, IBM Power, and KVM virtualization to manage and operate diverse virtualization platforms.
Infrastructure Deployment and Management: Ability to plan, deploy, and maintain virtualization infrastructure, including performing daily health checks, firmware/OS patching, and VM provisioning, while adhering to project schedules and SLAs.

1. To build and operate virtualization platform, including AIX, Oracle KVM, RedHat KVM, VMware and Oracle Database virtualization.
• Manage the end-to-end deployment and delivery of the virtualization infrastructure from deployment planning, setup & testing, pre-production readiness to production cutover. Conduct proper transition from Project to Operations before project closure.
• Understand the solution, scope and deliverables of the project, review the implementation and cutover strategy and work towards executing a successful project cutover.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineer, Application teams, Infrastructure SME
’s and service providers to meet the project objectives and schedule, and address issues that arise in the project through timely escalation.
• Prepare and submit the necessary change requests and requisition for the deployment of infrastructure for the project, such as facility/VM request, IP/DNS/Hostname request, SAN requisition, etc.
• Deploy infrastructure setup according to the Bank policies/standards and approved solution design. • Manage risks and escalation encountered during project deployment and drive towards resolution.
• Achieve target SLA for Infrastructure Provisioning and complete project deployment as per agreed schedule and plans.
2. To provision VM for the target virtualization platform, including adhoc cpu/memory/disk resource changes.
3. To perform daily health check on the virtualization platforms.
4. To perform firmware/OS patching on hypervisors/virtualization tools, including EOS/EOL upgrade.
5. To participate in shift work to cover critical hours onsite and 24x7 offsite.
6. To support VM migration between virtualization platforms.
7. To work with vendor on virtualization/hypervisor problem encountered and apply the resolution steps to prevent future occurrences.
8. To develop scripts that help to automate daily health check tasks.
9. To participate in PDC/SDC migration.
