ASPAC Regional Team
As part of the regional team, you will play an integral role in helping KPMG member firms meet our Collective Strategy 3.0 and our Trust and Growth ambitions, promoting consistency and collaboration, so that KPMG inspires confidence and empowers change for our clients and talent. This role presents an exciting opportunity to build relationships with senior leaders across member firms throughout the Asia Pacific region, improving transparency and facilitating collaboration across borders
The role
Strategy
- Assist leaders in deploying the initiatives of the Collective Strategic v3.0 in the Region, i.e. Tax Reimagined, Senior Tax Talent, Digitizing Tax and Legal Reimagined
- Assist in reviewing business plans and strategy of the tax practices in the region; develop ideas and best practices to support the practices; assist in filling in resource gaps
- Assist in execution and alignment of Global-Regional-Local strategic plan
- Assist in the execution of the Regional Strategic plan
- Preparing for executive-level meetings such as Heads of Tax & Legal, Regional Service Line Leaders and other ASPAC leadership meetings, take action points and follow up with the team
KPMG Asia Pacific Tax Centre Initiatives
- Assist in delivering a successful Regional Tax Summit; developing the programme, content, identifying speakers, provide strong support on client meetings, provide leadership to the core organisation team
- Assist with implementing and driving tax centre initiatives; supporting senior partners and teams appointed to lead these initiatives
- Assist in enhancing the internal and external branding of KPMG Asia Pacific Tax Centre through developing relevant regional thought leadership and publications, reviewing/editing weekly tax technical newsletters (compilation outsourced to KGS in India and coordinate with Global L&D and Global Marketing & Comms), coordinating the update of country tax profiles; organising and assisting with internal webinars, etc.
- Work closely with regional service line, sector and network leaders to assist them in the delivery of their business plans; liaising with global service line leaders and practice managers.
- Assist in regional knowledge management initiatives – sharing of best practices, producing support in KM capability enhancements such as creative use of intranet and other tools.
ASPAC Cross Functional initiatives
- Collaborate with other functions (e.g. Client & Markets, Audit and Advisory) in the Asia Pacific team to drive regional strategies and initiative
- Developing good relationships internally within the firm and assist them in connecting / co-ordinating with other member firms in the Asia Pacific region wherever required.
- Support growth across priority sectors, solutions, and accounts by engaging with other regional resources and leaders to activate strategies and provide input where required
- Undertake regular competitor analysis to identify new areas of opportunity and where defensive responses are required
Skills and experience
- Ability to work with people from many different cultural backgrounds.
- Good analytical and communication skills – verbal and written.
- Good project management/coordination skills
- A team player. Confidence in dealing with staff, managers and partners of different practices across the Asia Pacific Region
- Ability to make rational decisions regarding the escalation of problems.
- Motivated, pro-active, and hard-working team player who is results driven, action oriented and outcomes focused.
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in well-presented, accurate work and can do attitude.

- Able and available to travel regionally in the range of 5-10% for the purpose of organizing Tax Summit, attend Heads of Tax & Legal meetings, other regional meeting as and when required.
- Good tax technical skills in any one country
- Regional tax knowledge helpful
- Demonstrate flexibility and open mindedness. In particular, the role will require working directly with an ASPAC team as well as Global L&D and Global M&C colleagues
