Role Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of application infrastructure services that align with application requirements and business needs, while adhering to government policies, standards, and procedures. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will:
- Engage with stakeholders to translate business requirements into application infrastructure designs and services, ensuring they meet availability, capacity, resilience, security, and continuity needs.
- Forecast the budget required for project initiatives and maintenance contracts.
- Collaborate with service providers to design, develop, deploy, and configure IT application infrastructure projects, ensuring confidentiality, availability, and data integrity.
- Ensure that the Agency’s technical architecture and application infrastructure comply with IM8 and the Agency's IT Policies and Standards.
- Manage the daily delivery and support of application infrastructure services.
- Work with other government agencies and central services teams to facilitate and deliver government-wide application services.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience for an Engineer role and 5 years for a Senior Engineer role.
- Hands-on experience in at least one full project development lifecycle for an Engineer role, and three full project development lifecycles for a Senior Engineer role.
- Ability to adopt a broad, strategic perspective while also drilling down to understand specific business needs and challenges.
- Results-oriented with a strong customer focus.
- Effective team player with strong organizational and people management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas and influence stakeholders.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification is preferred.
