HEAD OF PMO (Infrastructure), ASIA PACIFIC

Role Overview:

The Head of PMO, Asia Pacific, is responsible for leading the Project Management Office (PMO) within the IT Infrastructure department across the Asia Pacific region. This role focuses on delivering high-impact infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, and driving project execution excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects within the financial services sector, demonstrating strong leadership in PMO operations and a deep understanding of the complexities of IT infrastructure in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PMO Leadership and Strategy:Develop and implement the strategic vision for the PMO, ensuring alignment with the organizations overall business goals and IT infrastructure strategy.
    Lead the PMO team in the effective governance, oversight, and management of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across the Asia Pacific region.
    Establish and continuously improve PMO processes, methodologies, and tools to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality in project delivery.
  • Project Portfolio Management:Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
    Monitor and report on project portfolio performance, identifying and addressing any risks, issues, or dependencies.
    Ensure projects align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and IT architecture standards.
  • Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with senior executives, business leaders, and IT stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure projects are aligned with business priorities and deliver value.
    Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Financial Management:Oversee the budget management of the PMO, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively across the project portfolio.
    Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to the CIO and other senior leaders, highlighting any variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor a team of project managers, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and tools required to deliver projects successfully.
    Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices in project management across the region.
    Develop training programs and career development plans to enhance the capabilities of the PMO team.
  • Risk and Compliance Management:Ensure that all projects adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, particularly concerning IT infrastructure and data security.
    Implement robust risk management processes, identifying potential risks early and developing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience:Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a senior PMO leadership role.
    Extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within the financial services sector.
    Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million-dollar projects in a regulated environment.
    Experience working in a global or regional role, with a strong understanding of the Asia Pacific market.
  • Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and external partners.
    In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networking, data centers, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
    Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and financial reporting.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Occasional travel within the Asia Pacific region may be required.
