Primary functions:
- Work closely with Management to understand new and existing projects
- Manage the engineering/technical aspect of new and existing projects, from initial conception to completion of manufacturing lot, and ensure that all works are carried out efficiently and effectively
- Understand the Company’s goal and lead a team to achieve those goals
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform product evaluations for new and existing products
- Monitor manufacturing progress of first articles and first manufacturing lot
- Select appropriate manufacturing equipment for production purpose
- Prepare, update, maintain and file all engineering related documents (e.g. technical specifications, design drawings, bill of materials, engineering change notice, manufacturing deviation report, certificate of conformance, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in all engineering related documents
- Chair new product release meetings
- Assist relevant departments in new customer quotations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness during knowledge transfer to production personnel
- Continuously strive for efficiency in manufacturing processes
- Provide all necessary support to business development team, purchasing team and production team
- Provide all necessary support to customer, which may include travelling to customer premise (local and overseas)
- Execute corrective measures quickly
- Ensure preventive measures are adhered to
- Provide product training to new staff
- Ensure compliance to industry standards (e.g. ISO, UL, IPC, etc.)
- Undertake any other assigned tasks
The Successful Applicants:
- Degree or Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant working experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment would have an advantage
- Good foresight and able to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills and time management skills
- Possess knowledge of IPC, UL, SEMI F47 and ISO standards would be an added advantage
- Results-oriented with a cost-conscious nature
- Independent, able to analyse critically and react quickly
