Job Summary
The Lorry Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to and from our manufacturing facility. This role involves operating a Class 3 lorry, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, and ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 3 driver’s license and experience in operating lorries in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Transportation:Operate a Class 3 lorry to transport goods, raw materials, and finished products to designated locations. Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery and minimize delays.
- Vehicle Maintenance:Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the lorry to ensure it is in safe and reliable working condition.
Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the maintenance department promptly.
- Loading and Unloading:Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Verify that all items are loaded according to the load plan and check for damage or discrepancies.
- Customer Service:Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients or customers during deliveries.
Address any customer concerns or issues in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Administrative Tasks:Complete and submit delivery reports, vehicle inspection forms, and other required documentation in a timely manner. Collaborate with the logistics team to coordinate delivery schedules and routes.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience as a lorry driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Licenses: Valid Class 3 driver’s license (or equivalent, depending on regional requirements).
- Skills:Strong knowledge of road safety and vehicle operation.
Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
