In the Mobility Data Science team, you are at the core and center of Grab's ride hailing business. We are responsible for building and serving AI models to empower our pax' ride hailing experience in Grab. Our primary goals are to enhance our passenger experience, and drive decision-making that contributes to user growth and platform efficiency
Get to know the role
As a Senior Data Scientist in the Mobility Data Science team, you'll be reporting into the Senior Data Science Manager and be based onsite in Singapore. We leverage on your mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and programming proficiency to drive data-driven decisions and help us conquer unique business challenges in the ride-hailing industry. Your contributions will directly impact user growth and platform efficiency, shaping the future of Grab's ride-hailing business.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will navigate through large datasets in geospatial, behavioral, and economic data, as well as millions of interactions from our passengers to uncover insights that can enhance our passengers' experience and make our network more efficient.
- You will use your analytical skills to solve key business problems. These could range from improving user experience, boosting user growth, balancing demand and supply, to differentiating our services.
- You will design and build machine learning models. These models will predict ride demand, passenger preferences, and passenger cancellation/churn. The end goal is to improve the overall efficiency of our ride-hailing system.
- You will champion the continuous efforts in seeking ways to enhance our models through iterative improvements and A/B testing.
- You will translate business needs into data solutions, and help implement and deploy these solutions at scale through cross functional collaborations with software engineers, product managers, and operational teams.
- You will be our innovator, contributing to the team's creation of new ideas and intellectual property.You will stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends and tools, and apply this knowledge to improve development processes and product quality
What essential skills you will need
- We're looking for Degree graduate who has spent at least three years of experience in a field like Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Proven track record as a Data Scientist within Tech or related industries.
- You are well-versed in machine learning, deep learning, data mining, and algorithmic foundations of optimisation.
- You are familiar with machine learning frameworks like Tensorflow or Pytorch, and proficient in one or more programming languages, such as Python or Scala.
- You're a people person, able to foster collaboration with team members and articulate insights effectively to diverse audiences without Tech background.
