- Administer and manage systems across diverse environments running on Oracle, RHEL, Solaris and Wintel-based servers.
- Perform upgrades of servers and improvements on IT infrastructure components.
- Apply Operating System (OS) hardening and patches for operating systems and specific products.
- Action upon instruction from senior management to upgrade or replace obsolescence of IT servers and middleware components efficiently.
- Monito and manage the password and certs periodic renewals.
- Experience in system backups setup and maintain recovery from the tape backups especially for business continuity and files restoration.
- Implement disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure and perform regular testing and failover test to verify the functionality of standby and recovery equipment.
- Manage Test environment supports for all SIT and UAT environments including planned maintenance.
- Deliver second-level network support to resolve incidents and issues according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Diagnose problems from incidents and recommend and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Plan and deploy system changes to the production environment following established change management procedures.
- Support application deployment for application changes as per application release notes
- Build and maintain a detailed configuration database for all IT infrastructure components used in the production environment.
- Monitor and plan for the capacity needs of environments periodically.
- Develop and implement processes to support IT service management, ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and guidelines.
- Provide system infrastructure support for projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades and enhancements according to project management standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical and procedural documentation to support IT infrastructure operations.
Academic Criteria & Professional Certification
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related discipline
- Oracle Certified System Administrator certification (Optional)
- RHEL Certified System Administrator certification (Optional)
Experience and Technical Skills Set
- Minimum 8years’ experience in system administration and support on Unix and/or RHEL
- Experience in performing OS hardening and patching for Unix and/or RHEL
- Experience in VMWare technologies
- Proficiency in scripting for Unix and/or RHEL environment to automate tasks (include Python and YAML scripting)
- Experience in administration and support of SAN (Optional)
- Experience with backup & management software (Optional)
- Experience in middleware (eg. IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct, JBoss Web Server) (Optional)
- Experience in management and automation software (Satellite, Ansible) (Optional)
