Main Roles and Responsibilities
1. Design & develop module guides and assessments, project supervision, and provide advice to the various programmes within the School/Faculty to deliver on program outcomes:
a. Advertising
b. Graphic Communication
c. Illustration Design with Animation
d. Screen Media
and/or component(s):
a. Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD)
b. Design Theory and Research Communication
c. Transformation and new technologies
2. Mentor and teach students, as well as lead and facilitate activities to provide an all-round development for them, which includes providing pastoral care and support, career guidance and supervision in the industry-based learning programme
3. Develop and/or manage administrative duties and support in the academic management and delivery of assigned modules, including but not limited to:
a. Undertaking assigned contact/teaching hours and research
b. Designing, preparing, and developing module/teaching materials
c. Contributing towards the review of research, curriculum, and academic matters
d. Maintainingrecords relating to students’ progress, performance, and attendance
e. Performing administrative duties as expected of an academic staff
4. Lead, assist and/or facilitate school activities (i.e., student exchanges, study trips) and contribute to administrative / management tasks (i.e., outreach, student recruitment, internal/external)
5. Engage in teaching duties and support for 20-24 hours/week during academic semester
6. Establish and maintain links with industry and institutions, to foster a total approach of academic pursuit alongside industry practice
7. Engage actively with industry partners and the Academy to embrace continuous learning and stay up to date with current/ new trends in the educational and professional arena
8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
1. Minimum Master’s degree with relevant certification in relevant area
2. Proficient in applications, objectives, and platforms of relevant area
3. Minimum 8 year(s) of extensive academic and/or industry experience
4. Positive, enthusiastic, and results-oriented with the ability to engage students in their learning
5. Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, to adapt, multi-task and meet deadlines
6. A team player with excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills
7. Strong track record of research/practice, with actual or potential for research output in your chosen field
8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
9. Provide a full CV and a statement of teaching and research interests
